Last year a this time when the Rangers were making their World Series run, Wash was throwing out gold at his after game press conferences. Here is a little sample thrown together from The Ticket.

Around Dallas and to any P1 this is an everyday saying, everyone gets it and know exactly where it came from. It even turned up during the Mavericks playoff and eventual championship run, when they used him and several other Dallas athletes to cheer on the team, and it ended with Wash saying “That’s the way basketball go”.

Now his saying has been immortalized in song. Bob Simpson with help from his wife, Jim Hodges, and Jackson Yandell re-penned the great song “ That’s the way love goes “. Originally a Lefty Frizzell song, made popular by Merle Haggard. Now Dallas and Texas has some great country music artist, many we play here on RootHog Radio, but what would be better than having Merle Haggard cover his own song? And if you have the means like Bob Simpson that is something you can get done, and he did.

The song debuted over the weekend at The Ballpark and is now available on iTunes . All of Simpson’s proceeds will go to the Texas Rangers Foundation.
